About Poppy Cotton

Poppy Cotton began when my husband and I moved into our new home in Park Slope, Brooklyn. As I started decorating, I wanted to recreate the look and feel of my favorite movies, like Rosemary’s Baby and The Stepford Wives. None of the slick and minimalist stores, however, gave me the home furnishings I was searching for—so I decided to make my own. And I loved the result.

Years of working in fashion design gave me an idea: Blend the old and the new to create a perfect modern mix. Because, just as in fashion, accessories for the home should be a fun opportunity to add color and whimsy to an environment. To create the accessories on this site, I scour online auctions and New York markets and find the vintage printed textiles and trimmings that hearken an era when homes weren’t afraid of a little pop and color. Then, by adding unique and luxurious new components, my vintage home accessories are able to live a contemporary life—along with the facade of their former one.

I am having the time of my life lovingly designing and making these products for my family and yours. I sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
